German Competition Alert: Geiger C7 Corvette Stingray

[1]With the introduction of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Chevy decided to continue with their strategy carried over from the C5 and C6 generations of making a global performance car (not just one that appeals to Americans). With the Corvette being the flagship of American performance, having a huge following in the United States, and having an iconic image that is recognizable everywhere, it is strange to think about other countries cherishing the Corvette with the same enthusiasm.

We recently covered a huge Corvette and Camaro enthusiast gathering [2] in Italy that was an eye opener to see the level of recognition our American performance cars get overseas. Shifting gears and taking a look at Germany, one company named Geiger Cars [3], has been in the Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Corvette market since 1979. Their recent Stingray build [4] is sure to catch some eyes on both sides of the pond.

With a paint job inspired by the C6 427 Anniversary Edition, the Geiger Stingray comes painted in gloss white with two blue racing stripes. In addition, they have added black wheels, a gloss black front splitter, and custom side graphics that do share a slight resemblance with those found on the Shelby GT500 (gasp!). The matte black, multi-spoke wheels, are produced by Geiger and create a very sharp image for this package.

While it is unclear whether or not they started the build with a Z51 Package equipped C7, the addition of the wheels, front splitter, and prominent rear spoiler makes it look just like one. Take a look at some of the photo gallery and let us know what you think of the build!
