Wild Car Wednesdays At Corvette Mike Midwest

When it comes to selling cars, many rely on air dancers or flashing blue lights to do the bulk of the sales, but when you’re dealing in Corvettes, the subject matter becomes much more appealing without the additional gizmos.

The folks at Corvette Mike Midwest have devised a way to join enthusiasts with the perfect Corvette, and also put a couple grand extra in their customers’ pockets. They’ve begun their “Wild Car Wednesdays”, where a Corvette is selected from their showroom and offered at a special pricing that holds until the next mid-week.

This week, Corvette Mike Midwest is highlighting 1964 with this super-clean, Silver-Blue ’64 convertible featuring a Muncie four-speed behind that 300 horsepower, 327 cubic-inch engine. In its second day of this special promotion, you’ve still got the better part of a week to save some serious coin on this clean Corvette. While you’ll enjoy the hefty discount at the time of purchase, rowing through those gears with the top down will help ensure that EVERY day is a great day.

The 1964 Corvette was a transitional model in the midst of the C2 generation. Still wearing the previous generation’s drum brake assemblies and still offering the optional Rochester fuel injection, it was also the first year in C2 production without the desirable split rear window. While a dramatic styling cue, it was a bone of contention for Chief Engineer Zora Arkus Duntov, who argued it hindered the view out the back of the vehicle. He is credited for over-riding Harley Earl’s design and having the split window removed. Of course, that’s a moot point on this car, since you could drop the top and enjoy the view in any direction. Another thing that didn’t make it into production were the faux hood grilles. While the impressions are still there for ’64, the chrome bits were dropped.

This car features power brakes and AM/FM radio and has been updated with whitewall radial tires that match well with the factory wheel covers. The original interior is covered in black, with a matching soft top. Between the high-winding V8, four-speed Muncie transmission, and some nice riding radial tires, this car is surely going to be more fun than watching any of those air dancers out front!
