In the world of performance wheels, there’s a common misconception that the only importance of an aftermarket wheel is its weight. Forgeline helps us to understand why this shouldn’t be enthusiasts only concern, and why an aftermarket wheel’s load rating is also important.

But how can manufacturers design a lightweight wheel which performs well? A wheel that can withstand the abuse caused by road racing applications, yet retain the confidence to get you home safely from the track, or take you on a weekend cruise? Forgeline separates its line of wheels from others through the strength of its load rating. A wheel’s load rating refers to the amount of weight the wheel can safely support. This number is predetermined by the wheel manufacturer, and can fluctuate depending on the type of tire it is paired with.

Forgeline explains how each of its wheels has three separate load ratings, and how each tire's coefficient of drag determines which load rating is ideal for which type of tire.
