The annual SEMA show in Las Vegas is very nearly here, and we’ve seen dozens of different concept cars from automakers big and small. Next week is going to be a bust week of reviews, debuts, and custom cars galore, and you can bet the all-new Corvette Stingray will be out in force. Not only is GM bringing a cadre of custom Corvettes, but numerous aftermarket manufacturers are jumping on the Stingray bandwagon.
Among them is Toyo Tires, which is bringing several Chevrolets to the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, including BJ Baldwin’s Chevy Baja trophy truck and a custom 2014 Corvette called the P58 Concept.
The Pfadt Race Engineering P58 Corvette concept has been boosted to 580 horsepower, 130 more than stock, thanks to upgrades that include a cam swap, long-tube Tri-Y headers, a custom exhaust, and a tune. It sports a carbon fiber aero package designed by Michigan-based TZD Designs and a racing-style rear spoiler, giving us an obvious indication of TZD’s inspiration. The wheels are Vossen Monoblock 20-inch racing rims at the front and 21-inch rims out back.
Of course, Toyo Tires being a tire company, the main attraction is the rubber on the wheels. The rubber is Toyo Proxes T1R ultra high-performance tires, designed for the highest of high-performance cars, such as this almost-600-horsepower Corvette.
The Corvette will share the booth with a Nissan GT-R, a modernized 1969 Ford Bronco, and a restomod ’69 Camaro called “Lou’s Change”, so it certainly won’t be lonely. But we know who is the star of the Toyo show really is…
