This beast is brought to you from the shop that holds the record for fastest LT1 in the world, fastest stock short block LS1, and first LS7 over 700hp– the Houston House of Power (HHP). HHP is known for their outstanding LSX builds and tunes for drivability on heavily modified motors… and now we see why.
We stumbled across this gorgeous ZR1 built and tuned by HHP on Youtube and, well, I guess you could say we fell in love. We just had to reach out to the owner and get some more information on this insane build.
The owner, James Sawyer, gave us its lengthy mod list. He’s currently running the stock LS9 short block with Mast Black Label heads, a BTR Stage 3 equivalent cam, a custom catch can system, 2″ American Racing long tube headers, a Lingenfelter Snout ported to 102mm, the ported stock blower, a 14% overdrive balancer and lower pulley, a Nick Williams 102mm throttle body, a complete E85 Flex-Fuel FORE Innovations set up, ID 1300 injectors, a Lingenfelter timing control module, and a Mantic triple disc clutch.
And if that wasn’t enough, they threw in a Nitrogen Assisted Nitrous Oxide (NANO) System (2 3000# nitrogen cylinders), 2 15# NO bottles, a Nitrous Outlet wet plate setup (capable of up to 400hp shot), and a Nitrous Outlet Progressive Controller.
To keep things cooled off, Sawyer is using a D3 ZR1 Complete Cooling Package with fans and a heat exchanger with modified bricks.
As of now, it pushes 900+rwhp/900+rwtq on boost and a whopping 1200+rwhp/1250+rwtq on nitrous.
James claims they are going to be replacing the stock LS9 with a fully built Billet LSX 427, which will be arriving around November 4th– we can’t wait to see this next stage of the build.
