Callaway Competition, the team from Leingarten, Germany, is riding high after their victory this past weekend at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. Going into the event, the team was quite optimistic and set high personal goals for both the drivers and the team. With 29 points in their pocket, the plan was to attack Most this year and collect as many valuable points as possible.

“The team is highly motivated and the mood is very good”. Mike Gramke, Team Boss for Callaway Competition stated. “Certainly, we’re starting this year better than last year, but we’re still just at the beginning of the season. All of us in the team have one goal in mind and achieving it requires consistency. At Most, we want two good results to take home with us.”

The Callaway Competition Corvette C7 GT3-R pairing of Markus Pommer and Marvin Kirchhöfer outclassed the rest of the field to win Sunday’s ADAC GT Masters race and notch up their second victory of the season. Second place went to Rolf Ineichen and Franck Perera in the best of the Lamborghini Huracáns. Securing Third place were David Jahn and Sven Barth from RWT Racing in the second of the two Callaway GT3-R Corvettes.

From the very start of the race, the Callaway Competition Corvette passed pole-sitter Franck Perera on the approach to Turn 1. Each lap rewarded the team’s efforts with additional distance between them and the rest of the pack. That continued until Thomas Preining’s Porsche went into the crash barrier in a tussle for fourth place with RWT Racing’s Corvette driver, David Jahn.

The race was stopped for just under ten minutes to recover the 911 and repair the barriers. Kirchhöfer remained in front as racing restarted behind the safety car. His partner Pommer took the wheel of the Corvette at the mandatory pit stop and the Callaway GT3-R remained ahead of the pack for the rest of his stint and the end of the race.

A comfortable three-second lead at the finish line solidified the second victory of 2019 for both Pommer and Kirchhöfer while the RWT Racing GT3-R, piloted by David Jahn and Sven Barth came in Third. The next race will be held June 7-9th at the Red Bull Ring, Austria and can be viewed on the ADAC GT Masters website.
