A Look At Edelbrock’s LT1 E-Force Supercharged 851 HP Crate Engine

There are plenty of manufacturers in the industry that sell crate engines for swaps. You can get everything from a factory replacement engine to larger cubic-inch mills depending on what your needs are. Finding a high-performance Gen-V LT crate engine can be a little more of a challenge. The problem with most of the LT crate engines is they don’t satisfy the needs for the power hungry. Sure, you can spend your hard earned money on a crate engine to get your car going only to figure out it needs a lot more power. Why not just do it right the first time?

Edelbrock has an LT crate engine that has certainly gotten the attention of the performance minded. The Edelbrock E-Force Supercharged LT1 makes outstanding power and utilizes only the best parts in the business. You won’t have to worry about upgrading the internal components at a later date because Edelbrock has already taken the extra step to make sure their engines have only the best pieces.

The Edelbrock LT1 E-Force Supercharged crate engine starts with a brand new GM LT1 Gen-V aluminum block. The block is bored to 4.065-inches and set up for a 4.000-inch stroke which renders a displacement of 416 cubic inches. The block is then mated with a balanced Manley forged 4340 crankshaft, Manley forged H-beam connecting rods, and a set of Manley forged aluminum pistons. The forged pistons are a -20cc design that offers a compression ratio of 10.5:1. These parts combined with precision machine work secure a bulletproof bottom end that is ready to dish out some serious power. Edelbrock also uses their own aluminum Performer RPM cylinder heads with 305cc intake runners and 115cc exhaust ports. 2.165-inch intake valves and 1.60-inch exhaust valves are utilized to keep the air moving in and out of the 60cc combustion chambers.

This engine is built for some serious power and to hit their mark, Edelbrock selected an E-Force R2650 Supercharger to top off this combination. The E-Force superchargers use Eaton TVS R2650 rotors and include a DP-3C intercooler to help cool the compressed air charge. Even with the 10.5:1 compression ratio this combination still allows for safe and reliable power on 91 pump gas.

Here is a look at some of the additional accessories that come with the engine including an electric intercooler water pump, reusable air filter, brackets, hoses, and more.

When it’s all said and done the E-Force Supercharged LT1produces a massive 851 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque on 91 octane. The crate engine also includes an electric intercooler water pump, plumbing, recovery tank, fuel rails, fuel injectors, mass air flow sensor housing, heat exchangers, and a reusable air filter. As if this combination was not sweet enough, Edelbrock also throws in a two year/unlimited mileage warranty for peace of mind.

If you are looking for a high-performance LT crate engine, the Edelbrock E-Force Supercharged LT1definitly fits the bill. With over 850 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque, you will have endless moments of tire-shredding joy with just a tap of the throttle.
