In a world where 1000-horsepower is the new normal, it’s nice to know that there are companies in the industry like Deatchswerks. Founded in 2004, DeatschWerks, LLC is a company dedicated to providing high-performance fuel system solutions, and it shows.DeatschWerks offers everything you need for a fuel system from fuel injectors, fuel filters, surge tanks, regulators, lines, fittings, and of course fuel pumps. At the 2018 SEMA Show, the company released it’s latest design to the power-hungry with a new brushless in-tank fuel pump.
These new fuel pumps are both gasoline and methanol compatible and will last much longer than the older style brushed fuel pumps. This brushless design has a controller that pulses an electromagnet on the outside of that spins the motor itself. According to Mark Hutchison of DeatschWerks, “This design is super efficient, offers less friction, and can flow more without using as much amperage.” Mark continued,” With these pumps being frictionless, you can put a lot more voltage to it, and it reacts much better than the brushed-style pump.”
DeatschWerks will be selling three different styles in the brushless series which consists of a 265, 340, 425-liter per hour pumps. When asked how the 425 brushless pump compares to a standard 400 Mark stated, “The brushless design is smaller and is a lot quieter than the standard 400 pumps and is capable of producing up to 1,000 horsepower on gasoline.”
