When Chevy started making the C4 Corvette, they intended to bring the car into the digital age by introducing a fully “digital” dash. They did of course, have an analog version on standby, just in case Corvette wasn’t ready to go full ones and zeroes. There is one of these prototype analog gauges on display in the National Corvette Museum, but they never made it into production.
Several decades later, some enthusiasts are wondering what their C4 would be like with fully analog gauges behind that dash pod. For those ’84-’89 Corvette owners, Intellitronix has an answer to that very question. They have a complete dash cluster that they manufacture in their Ohio facilities that replaces the factory gauges with honest-to-goodness finger-pointers.
The gauge cluster comes with speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, voltmeter, oil pressure gauge, and water temperature gauge. There are also turn signal indicators and a high beam indicator, just like the originals. The cluster features automatic night-time dimming and also comes with a lifetime warranty, all necessary sending units, hardware, and instructions. The speedo reads up to 160 MPH, includes simple one-button calibration (regardless of tire size, gear ratio, or transmission), odometer, trip meter, high speed recall, 0-60 time, and ¼ mile elapsed time (ET). All with the push of a button!
The tachometer reads from 0 to 8,000 in 100 RPM increments and the water temperature gauge reads from 100 to 260 degrees Fahrenheit. The fuel gauge is user-programmable to work with Ford, GM, Chrysler, VDO, and aftermarket 240-33 ohm industry standard fuel senders and reads from 0-99%.
