Optima Batteries has a gigantic presence here at the 2015 edition of the SEMA Show, from its expansive booth showcasing popular products to a multitude of Optima Ultimate Street Car examples on display. The company’s colorful and resilient batteries are found in vehicles across the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center and power the needs of countless other machines throughout the world.
This year, Optima is hosting its first year of a new initiative to highlight enthusiasts who use their products to power whatever they drive.
“We are doing our first Optima Ultimate Film Festival. It is the inaugural event, and we had a call for entries from September into October … we have 17 finalists,” says Optima’s Stephanie Lewis.
“It’s professional grade, and really incredible to see. We know enthusiasts are already strapping a GoPro to a wheel well and taking video anyways, we’ve just given them an outlet to really show it to us for a chance at some kick-ass prizes.”
The showing will be hosted on Thursday night at The House of Blues, Mandalay Bay, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, and only 300 people will be admitted. The compilation of films will include all types of vehicles and several forms of motorsport, so there will be something for everyone.
A prize for two audience-elected winners is nothing short of extraordinary, and includes “A sweet prize pack from our sponsors and also and episode on MavTV airing next year,” explained Lewis.
So, all you ambitious film students, and GoPro slingers, check out your competition at this years event and maybe next year you will have your work aired on the big screen at SEMA 2016.
