PRI 2018: Frankenstein Engine Dynamics F-Series LS Heads

Until GM comes out with a new platform that can top the LS/LT market, the performance aftermarket is going to have a heyday creating as many parts for this popular power plant as it possibly can. Recently Frankenstein Engine Dynamics noticed a gap in head production by other manufacturers that left it with a massive opportunity in the market. Your options in the past were heads cast in 356 aluminum that would require a ton of work for high-horsepower applications, or you would need to fork up a ton of cash for an exotic set of heads to handle the desired power level.

Frankenstein took notice of this deficit in the market and created its new line of the F-series LS cylinder heads. Right off the bat, the guys over at Frankenstein decided to ditch the 356 aluminum for the harder, more-durable 357 aluminum. According to Mike Shabareck, marketing and sales at Frankenstein, “the 357 alloy is about 20-percent stronger than the standard 356 which is used in most cylinder heads. Every sealing surface on the cylinder heads, besides the main surface area that bolts to the deck of the block, are all o-ringed.” This allows you to have an o-ring seal on your headers instead of having to run those pesky exhaust gaskets. Another note according to Mike is that all of the F-series heads use an LS7 style because they are so efficient.

Frankenstein offers several different styles of heads for the LS-platform including a 247cc and 265cc version for an LS1, a 287cc LS3, 290cc and 294cc for the LS7. For more information on the F-series cylinder heads and billet intake manifolds, check them out at frankensteined.net
