PRI 2016: ProCharger Announces New & Upgraded D1X and P1X

IMG_8095

There’s no denying that ProCharger is a leading name in the automotive aftermarket industry. With a broad product base, unmatched quality, more power per pound of boost, and bolt-on installation– let’s be honest, what isn’t there to love about ProCharger?

For a while now, the P1SC and D1SC superchargers have been insanely popular for many types of LS-Powered GM vehicles. Whether being used for the street or the track, these provide the largest increase in horsepower and torque available from any supercharger system on the market. Dave Werremeyer from ProCharger tells us how they have improved upon these already incredible products.

Both the D1X (left) and the P1X (right) are available in both polished and black crinkle finishes.

The new D1X and P1X are providing customers with anywhere from a 50 to 100 horsepower difference over the P1SC and D1SC– all thanks to improved efficiency in the drive systems. ProCharger went in and changed the design of the impeller and compressor housing to really fine tune this product. Dave explains how simple it is, “For the guys that are looking for a little bit more power but also don’t have to make a pulley change, so for instance, say you have a guy that’s making 8 pounds of boost on a Mustang and he wants to go up in power, he can purchase a P1X, keep the same pulley, keep the same tune, but free up more horsepower.”

The P1X is ideal for applications up to 800 horsepower and utilizes a 90mm inducer. It can flow up to 1,275 cfm and has a maximum RPM of 65,000. The D1X will support up to a whopping 1,000 and features the same 90mm inducer. However, the D1X has improved flow characteristics over both the previous D1SC and the P1X, measuring in at a massive 1,500 cfm. While it flows more air, it does so at a lower RPM–maxing out at 63,000.

If you’re looking to step up your game, one of these two new snails just might be your best best.
