PRI 2015: BluePrint Engines Boast Own Line of Blocks, Heads

Leveraging more than three decades of engine assembly experience, BluePrint Engines out of Kearney, Nebraska, is now showcasing its own line of cylinder blocks and heads.

“We incorporate the design features important to us,” explains Dru Freese, product manager at BluePrint. “For example, our new big-block Chevy cylinder block offers updated features like a choice between a one- or two-piece rear main seal along with roller lifters but comes with a provision for a mechanical fuel pump.”

In fact, BluePrint offers eight versions of the big-block, depending on the rear main seal, a cylinder bore of 4.250, 4.500, or 4.600 and a standard or tall deck height. Price ranges from $1,999 to $2,049 and all feature splayed four-bolt main caps, clutch linkage mounts and standard starter location.

On the small-block Chevy side, there are six new blocks that offer a choice between one- and two-piece rear main seal, siamese or wet cylinders and bore diameters of 4.000 or 4.125. Additional features include splayed four-bolt mains, mechanical fuel pump boss, clutch linkage mounts and a standard starter location. Prices range from $1,539 to $1,599.

Of course, BluePrint offers a wide variety of assembled short-blocks and fully assembled engine packages for Ford, Chrysler and GM applications. One of the newest short-blocks is the 383 Plus that pumps out up to 432 horsepower with 450 lb-ft of peak torque. The Plus series is available in three configurations: cast crank/hypereutectic pistons, forged crank/hypereutectic pistons and forged crank/rods/pistons. Price ranges from $3,299 up to $3,999. These short-blocks include hydraulic roller camshaft, timing cover, oil pan and balancer.

Top-of-the-line fully assembled offerings are found in BluePrint’s Pro Series where customers can get a 815 horsepower 632ci big-block Chevy.

All assembled engines are dyno tested and come with a 30-month, 50,000 mile warranty.

In the video above, you’ll learn more about BluePrint’s engineering and design strategy from Andrew Obermeier, as well as look at additional packages that are available.
