In the car culture, there’s simply no accounting for bad taste and bad drivers. More often than not the two seem to go hand-in-hand, and we’ve all seen plenty of hideously-modified automobiles wrecked beyond repair at the hands of inexperienced or inept drivers. With most sports cars offering a suite of driving aids, there are fewer and fewer excuses beyond driver error.
We don’t know the whole story of this wrecked, chrome-wrapped Corvette Stingray C7 found on GTSpirit, and had the accident happened a few feet in either direction, the damage and injuries could have been much worse. Still, this crashed chrome Corvette makes our hearts hurt.
The driver walked away from the crash, but this Corvette is undoubtedly wrecked beyond repair. The hood has been completely torn off, leaving the engine exposed to the elements. The suspension is almost assuredly demolished as well, as the concrete guard pole did its job too well, whilst barely budging.
Alas the Corvette driver reportedly smacked into several other vehicles as well, and while one hopes a person ostentatious enough to own a chrome-wrapped Corvette would have some platinum-level insurance, that’s little comfort to the afflicted. At least the Corvette and its driver didn’t go up in flames by crashing into the gas pumps and what few injuries were reported are minor. But we’re starting to think that all high-horsepower sports car should come with a mandatory driving course, because nobody likes to see a wrecked Corvette. After all it’s not the car’s fault the owner insisted on an obnoxious chrome wrap.
