Video: We Install and Dyno a K&N Intake System on Our C6 Z06

The LS7 found in the C6 Z06 Corvette has been heralded by many as the “ultimate small block Chevy.” Thanks to its big cubic inches and carnivorous cylinder heads that combine to produce over 500 horsepower in stock form, it’s a beast right off the showroom floor, rocketing the Z06 to supercar-busting track times [1]. But as good as the LS7 is bone stock, there is plenty of untapped power potential just waiting to be unleashed. In this video, we walk you through the step-by-step install of a K&N intake system on our C6 Z06 [2], (part number 63-3060-1 [2]) and do a bit of testing on our Dynojet [3]chassis dyno to see how much power the added airflow is worth. Our blue Z06 is bone stock (for now) and a simple K&N intake is a logical first step towards unlocking even more power from this LS7 animal.

As with most K&N intake systems [2] the install is pretty straight forward, and you only need a few basic hand tools, and some common sense to help your LS7 breathe like it was meant to. Before you chuck your stock parts, make sure you’ve removed your stock MAF sensor, crankcase vent tube, and the mounting grommets because you will need those to install your K&N intake on your Z06.

It’s safe to say that we were very happy with the amount of power our Z06 gained thanks to the K&N intake [2], especially considering how simple the install was. Check out the video to see just how much power we gained on our Dynojet dyno, and to see the step-by-step install instructions.
