Wrecked Vette Wednesday: Fatal Jeep Versus C5 Collision

Another tragic accident involving a Corvette happened this month, this time in Sacramento, California near the California State University Sacramento campus. Occurring on the afternoon of Saturday, February 1st, this accident involved two vehicles – a Jeep Wrangler and a C5 Corvette. wvw_sacramento_3 [5]According to KCRA Channel 3 [6], the car accident happened around 3:45 p.m. on February 1st at the intersection of Howe Avenue and College Town Drive. According to police, a Jeep Wrangler was coming around the corner from Howe Ave. to College Town Drive when it T-boned a C5 Corvette, which was heading west.

The Corvette, driven by 83-year-old Gerald F. Ryder, was severely damaged in the incident. Gerald, a Sacramento resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. Occupants of the Jeep suffered only minor injuries.

The accident closed down College Town Drive at La Riviera Drive for a few hours while police investigated the incident.
