Wrecked Vette Wednesday: Creeper Edition

No one said criminals were smart, and the man involved in our latest Wrecked Vette Wednesday feature certainly was not. In fact as we found out from CorvetteBlogger, police were notified about the Corvette owner, 31-year-old Joseph Ciambriello, prior to his crash after he was allegedly peeping in the windows of a local elementary school. Anyone else up for changing it to Weirdo Wednesday this week?

In the early morning hours of Friday, February 2nd, Ciambriello was caught creeping around the Harding Avenue Elementary School in Lindenhurst, New York, peering in windows and doors, and even using a flashlight to look inside. Once confronted by a custodian at the elementary school, Ciambriello fled in his Corvette but not before stating that he was part of the CIA.

Elementary school staff members got Ciambriello’s license plate number and called police, who got in a short chase with the creep. Before being apprehended, Ciambriello managed to crash into five police cruisers, be Tased three times, and try to run away. It was only after five or six officers tackled him that the suspect was stopped.

Police say Ciambriello was under the influence of drugs when he crashed his car, which caused significant front and driver-side damage to the black C6. After being apprehended, Ciambriello was taken to the hospital, as were six officers with minor injuries.

If Ciambriello’s creep factor wasn’t already enough, police are also trying to figure out if he was involved in another Lindenhurst incident that happened just a half hour before where someone matching Ciambriello’s description acted like a police officer and tried to pull over a woman in her car.
