Wrecked Vette Wednesday: C6 Corvette Attempts To Pole Dance

What started out as a beautiful day, with the lush Dutch landscape and a plethora of supercars was dealt a black eye when one Corvette driver’s lead foot resulted in collision with a large pole. Unfortunately, the throttle-happy Corvette owner felt the need to show off his C6’s capabilities during the Spring Event 2012 in the Dutch town of Amersfoort. Despite the driver or driver’s friends best attempts to remove the video from the web, there were others present who posted different views of the wrecked Vette, and as many have discovered, the Internet is Forever…

Much like the Coffee and Cars, the Spring Event featured a variety of exotic performance cars and captured their drivers showcasing the performance capabilities of each. When there is a vast amount of testosterone and horsepower there is a fairly decent chance that something bad or at least unintended will happen.

In the original videos, the impact of the C6 can be heard but only the aftermath of the collision was shown. It appears that the C6 driver got a little silly while accelerating and lost control of the car; regrettably a light pole was in the perfect location to bring it to a sudden stop. It is never a pretty sight when a Corvette is shown mounting a pole, but despite the obvious front end damage the rest of the car looks fairly intact. Perhaps the reason why the original crash video was taken down was to make the incident a little more palatable to the insurance company. Regardless, of the attempts to cover up a moment of stupidity, YouTube is there to keep it in circulation despite your best efforts.
