Wrecked Vette Wednesday: C5 Versus Dodge Ram – In Norway?

[1]How many C5 Corvettes do you suppose there are in Norway? Probably not too many. How about Ram pickups? Also as rare as hen’s teeth, we’d imagine. So what are the odds of both a C5 and a Ram being involved in the same traffic accident just outside of Oslo?

Before you start to do the math on that, we’ll just say they’re 1:1 because it happened. Per GT Spirit [2], via our pals at Corvette Blogge [3]r, the driver of the Corvette lost control at high speed on the E6 [4] motorway, hitting the barrier in the median on the left, then careening into a ditch on the right (ditches love Corvettes!) before crossing the lanes once again and heading into oncoming traffic.

[5]There, the Corvette encountered an unfortunate Audi A4, which caused it to come into intimate contact with the aforementioned Ram. When the dust and chunks of sheet moulding compound [6] settled, the Corvette driver got away with nothing more than cuts to the head (and probably a ride in the back of a Norwegian cop car [7]), and one of the occupants of the Ram suffered what’s described as a “minor” fracture of the back. No word on the Audi’s occupants, so presumably there were no injuries there.

[8]As you can see, there was a considerable amount of debris to clean up, and it must have been quite a wallop to put that big pickup on its side. We’re glad nobody received life-threatening injuries, but from the level of damage we’d say that both American vehicles are totaled. One less Corvette and one less Ram in Norway…
