World Cancer Day: Purple Is The Color Of Cancer Survival

Today, February 4th is World Cancer Day. In support of cancer awareness, Chevrolet [1] is asking you to change your profile picture to purple.

Chevrolet and Chevrolet dealers across the United States have been dedicated to supporting the American Cancer Society [2] for 11 years. However, they are going a step further this year. For every person that changes their Facebook or Twitter profile picture to purple, they will donate one dollar to the American Cancer Society. They will contribute up to one million dollars total!

According to the Chevrolet site “60 years ago, 1 out of 3 people with cancer survived. Today, thanks in part to the American Cancer Society, 2 out of 3 will survive. Let’s work to make it 3 out of 3.” Cancer is something that can and does effect all of us. Changing your profile picture to purple is one quick easy way to do help out [1]

Chevrolet is asking you to donate to the American Cancer Society as well. Every single donation helps to find a cure for cancer. But what if you don’t have money to donate? You can always volunteer as well. You can help drive somebody to and from treatment, the grocery store, or to a doctors appointment.

Want to just simply purple your profile? All you have to do is hop on the Chevrolet Purple Roads website [1] and they will do it automatically for you. Show your support!
