It’s hard to believe that another race season is already fast upon us, but with the Roar Before The Rolex 24 test session taking place this weekend, teams are getting the finishing touches on their teams and cars for 2013. Among them is the widely acclaimed Wayne Taylor Racing team, headed by Wayne Taylor himself, that will be wearing new Velocity Worldwide racing liveries this season, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal [3]. But that’s not the only change the Taylor Racing team will be seeing in the upcoming season.

Starting the season off with a bang, Wayne Taylor Racing revealed their new Corvette Daytona Prototype covered in Velocity Worldwide graphics on Thursday at Daytona International Raceway.

Along with the reveal, Taylor also announced his 2013 drivers, son Jordan Taylor (known for his part in Corvette Racing) and Max Angelelli.

Jordan Taylor replaces Ricky Taylor on the team this year, who is now driving regularly for the Spirit of Daytona race team.

IZOD IndyCar Series Champion Ryan Hunter-Reay will also join the team for the Rolex 24 for his seventh consecutive start in the race.

[5]Velocity Worldwide, a New York-based software company is said to be supporting the Wayne Taylor Racing team this season and into the future.

“Finding money today in motorsports sponsorship today is almost impossible,” Wayne Taylor told The Daytona Beach News Journal. “You have to recreate ways of doing things. Velocity recognized this platform as a place to do business. I think this platform (Grand-Am and the American Le Mans Series combined in 2014) is going to become huge. Paul (Blakely, CEO of Americas for Velocity) and his brand want to launch with us and they’ll bring stuff to the series that has never been seen before.”

The Roar Before The Rolex 24 test weekend starts Friday at 9a.m. and ends Sunday at 5p.m. This marks the first workout for the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP in its new livery.
