Videos: Autocross Ride-Along in a Z06 Corvette

The C6 Z06 Corvette is an engineering marvel – 505 horsepower, amazing chassis refinement, and stability and traction control to keep the over-enthusiastic driver out of too much trouble. But sometimes, trouble can be fun under the right circumstances, like at an autocross.

The tube top, on the other hand, is an engineering disaster, a “whoops” waiting to happen. So what do you get when you combine the two? Well, at least in this video, you get a driver who’s distracted to the point of forgetting to turn off the electronic assistance for the ride-along pass with a female friend.

Fortunately, for the sake of comparison the same driver has provided additional videos to demonstrate the “recommended” way in second gear with everything turned off (below), and finally what it’s like to drive the course all in first (bottom).

While our passenger manages to survive (and even enjoy) her ride with her modesty intact, we might suggest for both comfort and safety that next time, she should wear the seatbelt correctly…
