Video: ZR1, CTS-V, and GTO Standing Mile Top Speed Comparison

OK, we’ll be the first to admit that the way this video is produced is more than a little annoying, and if you want to get any enjoyment it might be best to put it on mute. Beyond that, this standing mile test from the YouTube only Autostream Channel does provide a decent comparison of how some of our favorite LS powered rides stack up in the standing mile.

Here’s how their results break down…

[5]As you might expect, the ZR1 gets the majority of the attention in this test. The 173 MPH attempt was performed in “default mode” and the 175 MPH was produced using Mode 5 – Race. For the final test, they switch off all forms of electronic traction management to see if they can beat the computer. The verdict? 176 MPH – Even though they are still a good 5 MPH off the pace from this bone stock ZL1 that went 181.2 at the Texas Mile [6], we’re not quite ready to buy the fact that they out drove the PTM. Time and time again the PTM has proven to provide the quickest way to get from point A to point B [6], and feathering the throttle to try and keep the rear tires from breaking loose is NOT the quickest way to get anywhere. What’s your take?
