If you haven’t had the chance to drive a brand-new Stingray, here’s your chance. Except this one has been fully modified by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering [1] and includes a number of their hottest items for the latest and greatest Corvette.
The car’s package centers around the Lingenfelter 6.2L engine setup, which includes a set of LT1 CNC-ported cylinder heads, a new Lingenfelter/COMP Cams [2] hydraulic roller bumpstick, a ported and polished throttle body, and a Lingenfelter High-Flow cold air intake system.
[3]The car has also been modified with a set of Kooks [4] headers, a set of Lingenfelter/Forgeline [5] wheels wrapped in new Continental [6] tires. The Torch Red exterior simply screams “Hi Officer!”, and the driver takes his best shot at trying to attract one. The on-ramp acceleration and grip of the car is on full display as the driver does his best to navigate traffic, by simply watching it disappear in the rearview mirror.
Winding Road Magazine [7] produced the video, and with a set of earphones in as recommended, the sound produced by the Lingenfelter package is simply surreal – a controlled angry tone under acceleration and a nice rumble as the car comes to a stop. The point-of-view video gives us a good look at just how fast the modified Stingray comes up to speed – which is “very” – and we definitely enjoyed hearing and seeing how the rev-matching feature works from the driver’s seat.
The Stingray is an awesome machine right out of the factory, but this Lingenfelter package takes it to another level by boosting the horsepower level up to 550 – nearly 100 over the factory-produced 460 – and the only thing we can really say about this video is that we wish we were working the steering wheel and accelerator.
