Corvette Racing fans are in for a real treat with this video walk around of the C7.R race car with driver Tommy Milner. Although this Pratt and Miller built car seems exotic, remember that it’s heavily based on the C7 production car. GM even rolled out a C7.R when they debuted the C7 Z06 to reinforce that fact.
We caught up with the C7.R at Laguna Seca before Corvette Racing was off to score a fantastic win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Driver Tommy Milner took The RACER Channel for a technical showcase of the Corvette C7.R that he and his teammates drove to victory in France.
In fact, Corvette Racing’s victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two weeks ago, completed the team’s Triple Crown of sports car endurance racing with the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R.
Corvette Racing is the first team since 2000 to win the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and 24 Hours of Le Mans in the same season.
The highlights of the C7.R race car are improved cooling, direct-injection, an improved braking system, and pedal feel. Be sure and check out all the ducting to cool both the front and rear brakes too.
The old saying used to be “Win on Sunday, sell on Monday…” With Corvette and Corvette Racing, their slogan should be, “Win on Sunday and then sell closely related version of our race car on Monday…” Sounds good to us. Kudos to GM, Chevrolet, Pratt and Miller and Corvette Racing.
