Video: Unique Custom “Corvelle” Marries Corvette and Chevelle

[3]Sometimes, when you look at a highly customized car, the first question that comes to mind is, “What was he thinking?” We’re not entirely sure where the inspiration for this project came from, but the results confirm that top drawer fabrication skills were involved.

About the only easy thing involved in this project was that the wheelbase of both donor cars was the same. Visually, you see a very nice ’68 Chevelle convertible. What you don’t see at first glance is the ’07 Corvette chassis that the body is riding on.

In actual fact, about the only Chevelle components remaining are the exterior sheetmetal, trim, and convertible top mechanism. The interior is Corvette, though the embroidered headrests now say “Corvelle,” as does the badging on the fenders.

Now powered by the Corvette’s 6.0-liter, LS2 V8 and 6-speed manual transmission, the entire functionality of the Corvette chassis has been retained, from the Z51 suspension to the ABS, traction control and electronic stability systems.

This car is currently being offered for sale by RK Motors, in Charlotte, NC, for the rather amazing price of $109,000. That’s a bunch of coin, for sure, but for something as unique as this Corvelle, it’s a certifiable bargain. Head on over to the listing page [4] and check out the extensive gallery for the car and its build process. You’ll be amazed and, hopefully, inspired.
