Video: Traction Control Causes Z06 To Lose Control During Burnout

This past spring we brought you a story from Texas about a C6 Z06 who’s traction control basically caused the car to wreck right out of the water box at Lone Star Motorsports Park, located just outside Houston in Sealy, Texas. During our routine search of YouTube we came across this video which shows the mishap from a different angle.

As with the other video, you can see the driver is on the other side of the water box when he gives his street tires a quick spin to clean them off. Everything seems to be going as planned when the tires grip unexpectedly, causing the front end of the car to whip around to the right at smash into the concrete barrier separating the two lanes at the starting line, narrowly missing an ATV and giving the starting officials a bit of a scare.

With this video we also get more of a look at the aftermath with this video. The driver of the Z06 reverses his wounded Corvette out of the left lane, leaving the C6 in the right lane to wait for another race. Overall, things don’t look too bad, and most of the damage was likely done to the driver’s ego, but this video serves as a perfect reminder of the chaos that the deceivingly stable laws of physics can produce at any given moment.
