Video: Tiny Chevy Spark Packing a 500 HP LS7

Not every car has to make sense. On the surface, the Chevy Corvette Z06 is an impractical and expensive exercise in self-gratification. With seating for two, almost no cargo space, and ludicrous acceleration, the Corvette Z06 really is good for just one thing…going fast. However, a car like the Chevy Spark, a diminutive commuter and city car, makes much more sense in a densely-populated area like the urban centers of Europe.

[1]But what if you want that Corvette-like acceleration in a more tiny and practical package? Well Corvette Blogger [2] has the car for you; a Chevy Spark packing the 7.0 liter LS7 V8 engine from a Corvette Z06.

Ohhhh yeeeahhh…

Believe it or not, this crazy contraption comes from Germany. Somehow ze Germans shoehorned a massive Z06 7.0 liter V8 under the hood of a Chevy Spark, which normally comes equipped with a 1.2 liter four-cylinder engine. This has created a ridiculously light and fast little vehicle that has all the trappings of a real race car including racing seats, a roll cage, and an aggressive body kit.

While this Spark/Vette was up for grabs on Germany’s eBay, [7] it has already sold for a cool $55,000. Worry not though, as we have video of this absurd contraption in action. It takes some pretty big cajones to want to drive such a weird and powerful race car…but for the car enthusiast who lives in the city, it is quite the practical solution to getting your need for speed fix.

Are there any other small cars you think could use a big engine?
