Video: The Tuning School Dynos a C7 Corvette… Chassis

One of the biggest changes to the 2014 Corvette Stingray was a new aluminum chassis that was strong, light, and sexy… if you’re an engineer-type. Regardless on whether or not you find a bare chassis attractive, it does form the foundation for the rest of our favorite bowtie-badged sports car. You don’t get to see a frame minus the body all that often, as they’re often relegated to car shows.

[1]So how The Tuning School [2] came to be in possession of a functional Corvette C7 rolling chassis, complete with suspension and drivetrain, is beyond us. We guess someone knows somebody important at GM.

[3]The Tuning School offers online courses for those wishing to learn more about the art of tuning electronic fuel injection, or EFI systems. Becoming a professional tuner requires a lot of dyno time, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can blow up a very expensive bit of machinery. Hence the demand for centers of learning and tuning.

We’re guessing this chassis is being used by The Tuning School to develop their C7 Tuning course, which the video states will be available later this summer. While some shops have obviously figured out tuning the LT1 engine for themselves, backyard mechanics and smaller enterprises could get a lot out of this course – and maybe a chance to take this glorified V8 go-kart for a ride.

Come on, you know you were thinking it too!
