Video: The First “Vroom Vroom”

Being a car guy and a new father has its pros and cons. Sure, there’s going to be a dent on the pocketbook with having to buy diapers, formula, clothes, and all the other incredibly expensive stuff that comes with a baby.

For the lucky few of us who are able to hold onto our pride and joy (the car, of course), and be able to raise a family, there’s the joy of watching our kids turn into car guys themselves. We just spotted this video on YouTube of what it’s like to be in such a situation. To see your offspring grow up to have the same love and passions that you do makes it all worth it.

Watching your infant child make many 'firsts' is something that any parent can appreciate. They grow up so fast...

The clip is only a minute long, but it pretty much sums it all up. To an adult, cars are about the love, the passion, and the feel for speed. But to a child, particularly a toddler, it about being able to push a car around and make engines noises – while perhaps imagining what it will be like to actually drive a real one someday.

Juan Barnett, author of dcautogeek.com [5], said this about the video of his son on his blog:

“I’ll never forget the day he pressed all 26lbs of his heft onto the roof of that little yellow Corvette as he pushed it across the hardwood floor, making one of the most beautiful sounds a car has ever made…Vroom-vroom.”
