Video: Supercharged LS3 Combo Pushes C6 Corvette to Mid 9’s

[1]

How much fun does this sound like? Take a stock LS3, cam it up, bolt on the power adder of your choice, drop it in a lightweight car, and see how fast you can push it down the quarter mile. Well, it seems like C6 Corvette owners could pretty much do just that whenever the notion strikes them, and we recently uncovered this video [2] of a nice black C6 Corvette, putting down some big boy quarter mile times on YouTube.

The combo is relatively simple – the stock LS3 long block that the Vette came from GM with has been outfitted with a decent sized cam (listed as a 23x/24x with .6 lift) and a Vortech [3] V3 T-Trim supercharger and all the supporting goodies to go along with it – and yet it propels this C6 well into the 9’s. All the more impressive, this car is running a 6-speed automatic 6L80 transmission, and a stock-style suspension, with Pfadt [4] coilovers as the only listed modifications.

The video, reportedly filmed at The Dallas Raceway, features three quarter mile runs with the C6. On the first run the car turns in an impressive 10.13 at 107.3 MPH, but there is still plenty more left on the table. The car comes back for the second run, and cuts nearly 4 tenths off of the first run, with a 9.85 at 132.9 MPH. On the final run, the Corvette dead hooks those wide Hoosiers, and the car rockets to a 9.55 at 144.5 MPH. Not bad, not bad at all.
