Video: Preview Trailer For “The Speed Business”

[1]While everybody here at powerTV is a sports fan of one sport or another, we think that many professional sports stars get an undue amount of attention. Mostly this comes from self-destructive drama, like the New York Jets “harassing” a female sports reporter or the drama surrounding steroids in baseball a few years ago. Yet none of this holds a candle to the oft-overlooked drama surrounding professional race car drivers. A new web series will hopefully give us a better insight into the action and drama that surrounds professional race car drivers.

Patrick Gramm, who founded Digital Corvettes [2], is working on a new project called “The Speed Business” that follows the Blackdog World Racing Challenge GT Corvette [3]. He has released the first preview trailer, and we find ourselves enthralled and wanting more.

The World Racing Challenge is an event that began way back in 1985 and is sanctioned by the SCCA. Originally with just two classes, “Grand Touring” and “Touring Car”, it has recently added a third class, “GTS.” The Blackdog team is lead by owner/driver Tony Gaples, who has competed behind the wheel of the Blackdog Corvette for eight seasons now.

Just looking at the preview trailer, we can see that there is plenty of action to go around following this veteran racer and his team. As with any racing team, not every race goes swimmingly, and we saw plenty of crashes and disasters in the preview. However, it looks like we will really get a chance to see the people behind this team, giving us more insight into what it takes to run a successful Corvette race team. We’ll keep you up to date on details of this series as it unveils, because we really can’t wait to see where this one goes.
