Video: Motorweek Tests the SLP ZL610 Corvette and SLP Escalade

As one of the oldest automotive television shows in continuous circulation in the US, Motorweek holds a special place in the hearts and minds of auto enthusiasts everywhere. They’re well respected, well known and, well, kind of boring. Like really, who watches Motorweek the television show? Anybody? Anybody at all?

[1]Well, after seeing this video of Motorweek [2] comparing two high-powered, but very different GM vehicles modified by SLP Performance [3], we might have to tune in a bit more frequently.

Motorweek gets access to all the awesome aftermarket-tuned vehicles, and SLP is well known in GM circles for their awesome automobiles. Motorweek got its hands on an SLP ZL610 Corvette, SLP’s answer to the factory Corvette ZR1. And while both cars get supercharged engines making more than 600 horsepower, only the SLP ZL610 gets a convertible roof and automatic transmission…if you’re into that sort of thing.

And the other car Motorweek tested out? The SLP Cadillac Escalade, which has a supercharged Gen IV LS engine making 525 horsepower. That’s less power, in a heavier car…but a car that is much more family friendly and, quite frankly, intimidating. Motorweek, proving itself a bit of an old man’s mag, thinks the Escalade has a bit too much power.

To that we say, “pffft.”
