Video: Mildly Hooning a C5 Corvette in the Snow

Corvette owners of all generations – we want to know! What do you do with your cars over the winter? Do you keep it covered in a garage under lock and key? Do you take it out and drive it in the snow at all? We’re curious to know, because here in Southern California we don’t get snow often, unless it’s up in the mountains.

[1]That doesn’t seem to be the case for this brave C5 owner. Youtube user TitleMine encountered another day of heavy snowfall and decided to take his C5 Corvette out for a little bit of fun. With summer tires on the car, he slapped a GoPro on and let the sliding commence, with his friend recording on another GoPro. Rear-wheel-drive vehicles on low-profile rubber typically don’t handle well in snow and you can see that demonstrated in this video very well. It looks like he’s in a pretty safe area, but we don’t condone doing things like this with your Corvette. You have to admit, it is pretty fun to watch someone else do it, though.

[2]We would hardly call this drifting, or donuts, but “snownuts,” perhaps? Yes, that just happened. One thing we really liked about the video was the music – it gave the rather lackluster video a funny, majestic type of appeal. We know that TitleMine was just having some fun, but if you are driving your Corvette in these conditions, be sure to have snow tires and be very careful! And don’t forget to let us know what you do with your ‘Vette over the winter in the comments below…
