Video: LS7-Powered Spada Codatronca Monza Caught In Action

Whether or not the Spada Codatronca Monza will remain a concept car or will make it to the market has yet to be determined, but a recent YouTube video caught the prototype in action.  At what appears to be a testing or media day, the Spada Codatronca Monza made a few laps around the track giving some lucky individuals an opportunity to see the monster in action. According to a previous news story, the Codatronca Monza is powered by a twin supercharged 7.0L V8 that is based on the C6 Z06’s LS7 power plant. Previously, the Italian made supercar [1]was reported to produce an estimated 710-horsepower that should propel the car from 0 to 62 MPH in just three seconds.

The newly released video does not provide any power numbers or lap times, but it provides a glimpse of seeing what LS equipped supercar is capable of doing on a straightaway. With the lightweight body (2,600 pounds, reportedly) and over 700 horsepower, the Spada Codatronca Monza should be able to tear up the track with relative ease. Hearing the roar of the supercharged engine as it rockets past the camera is pure audio enjoyment; it is difficult to find a better sound than a built LS engine under load. With the ease and ever growing popularity of utilizing the LS engines it is doubtful that Spada will be the last LS-based supercar to hit the track. Currently the Codatronca Monza was built to serve as a display model, but there are still rumors of a production model based on the current prototype.
