Video: Livernois Motorsports Block-Sleeving An LS3 For Big Cubes

For those in the know, Livernois Motorsports [1] is one of the premier engine builders in the country, and they’re work is definitely top-notch. They’ve helped build some of the fastest race cars in the world, and it’s always a treat to see their latest creation being assembled from scratch.

It's not often that we get a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at a famed engine builder's shop. Here they're installing the big bore sleeves into the block.

They just sent this video over to us demonstrating how to block sleeve an LS3. While it might not sound entirely breathtaking on the surface of it, true engine builders will find watching the process particularly interesting since it concerns LS2, LS3, and LS7 blocks. Livernois now offers sleeves that provide the car owner with a bore size of up to 4.160-inch on the three aforementioned Gen-IV LS blocks.

In this video, we get to see how they remove the factory sleeves, how they hone the block for the larger bore, and the installation of the new sleeves. It’s a very complicated process, but to Livernois, it comes second nature as they do this day in and day out.

They prides themselves on doing all of their own work, in-house on their CNC machines, to provide a 100% guaranteed high-quality product to the customer. So no matter what your engine needs are, they are always willing to help you out, and build you an engine to suit your requirements!
