When you purchase an aftermarket part and it comes with installation instructions that are complete and thorough, it’s a great day. But when you have a chance to click on YouTube and watch a video, complete with footnotes, on how to install that same part, it’s an even better day.
As gearheads, many of us work best when shown how to do something, and this simple, to-the-point install video from Lashway Motorsports shows off just how easy it is to install a set of their side skirts along with the front spoiler they offer. We’re a big fan of easy installs that have a lot of aftereffect goodness, and the Lashway Motorsports kit does just that – goes on in short order and looks great when complete.
There are details on all of the tools you’ll need – most importantly, a C7 Corvette, because without that particular high-dollar item you won’t be able to complete the install. Removal of the fasteners for the side skirts appears quite simple, there are five fasteners in the front and two in the rear.
After removing them, the skirts install using those fastener locations, and are aided in adhesion by high-quality 3M tape along the underside of the body. Once installed, they provide a sleek look to go along with the lower-rocker protection, all for a few minutes of your time.
The front splitter installation is even simpler – there are ten factory fasteners that come off, the splitter gets held into place, and the fasteners get replaced. So easy, even a caveman could do it.
All of the body components are built from fiberglass and covered in a painted carbon flash metallic finish that goes well with the C7′s lines. If you can lay down in the driveway, and operate a ratchet wrench, you can install these pieces. Happy motoring!
