Video: Jiffy-Tite Quick Connect Fittings Make Engine Building Easy

Anybody who has ever worked on an old car knows how much of a pain in the ass it can be to disconnect old hose fittings that are stuck on by years of corrosion and neglect. Yet for whatever reason, most people are fine with replacing their crusty old hoses and clamps with more of the same. If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result, than replacing one rubber hose clamp with another is insane.

But there’s a better solution. As this next video shows, Jiffy-Tite’s Quick Connect Fluid Fittings allow for the one-handed removal of any fluid fitting, while being a long-lasting solution to the problem of crusty old hose clamps.

These lightweight fittings are made from 6061-T6 aluminum that are corrosion resistant, meaning the likelihood of them locking up are near zero. Inside the fittings are brass valves and stainless steel ball bearings that allow for the quick connect and disconnect features that make these simple devices so useful.

While the average car guy probably only does an engine swap maybe once a year, for those who build engines for a living, the Jiffy-Tite quick connects are a blessing. If you were to fit your whole engine bay with Jiffy-Tite fittings, we don’t imagine it’d take any longer than a minute to undo all your key connections like fuel and oil lines. It’s a simple idea that saves a lot of time, and we’re big fans of saving time.
