Video: Granatelli Adds 52 RWHP to a Z06 Without Breaking a Sweat

Know why we love the C6 Z06? Well, we could go on for hours giving you all the reasons, but probably one of the top reasons is that you can effortlessly pile on gobs of additional horsepower and torque with just a few simple bolt-ons to the LS7. A stout 505 horsepower rating from GM is more than enough for most folks, but the truth is that the LS7 is just dying to breathe deeper and reward you with even more power.

We recently found this video [2] from Granatelli Motorsports [3], featuring before and after dyno tests on a slick black 2012 Centennial Edition Z06 that Granatelli treated to a few very basic upgrades that ended up adding a big ole chunk of rear-wheel-horsepower and torque.

In 100% stock form the Z06 produced an impressive 443.2 horsepower and 417.5 pound feet of torque at the rear wheels. For upgrades, it doesn’t get much simpler than this. Granatelli added their own high-flow intake system, and a set of their Pro Series Coil Packs and Zero-Ohm plug wires. After a just a few short hours of work, and barely getting their hands dirty, the guys at Granatelli put the Z06 back on the dyno and made 495.8 horsepower and 464.4 pound feet of torque to the rear wheels. That’s a major bump of 52.6 horsepower and 46.9 pound feet of torque at the rear tires, for a pretty minimal amount of effort. Check out the video here [2], and visit Gratatelli’s website [3] for more info on their late model Corvette products.
