Video: Ford-Powered C3 Corvette Mud Bogger Defines the Word “Wrong”

Can “wrong” ever be “right”? Most Corvette enthusiasts would look at this mud bogger built by Gameover Motorsports [1] and have an instinctual aversion to it, even before they find out that instead of Chevy power, there’s a Ford under the hood. The thought of America’s sports car being used (or abused) to build a sippy hole bomber might even cause them physical pain. [2]

But we believe that “there’s a lid for every pot,” and part of what makes this country great is the fact that we are free to do whatever ill-advised thing we want with our own stuff. Look a little closer, watch the video, and you start to notice that this hybrid seems to be pretty well thought out. It maneuvers with authority through deep mud, and the engineering details like the stout recovery hook on the back and the differential-mounted rear brake start to stand out. You can’t even argue with the choice of bodystyle – plastic-bumper C3’s aren’t exactly at the peak of desirability among collectors, and a second life covered in adobe is certainly better than rotting in a salvage yard.

While your idea of fun might not include getting showered with mud through the open T-top roof of a Corvette that requires a stepladder to get into, we salute the proud rednecks at Gameover Motorsports for their creation – check out their Facebook page [1] for more photos and a glimpse into their world of good, clean, dirty fun.
