Video: First Supercharged C7 Built by LMR Hits 713 Wheel Horsepower

Well, here you have it, folks – a supercharged C7 Corvette. Ever since the new Vette was released to the public, numerous shops and companies have been developing and prototyping supercharger and turbo applications for the masses.

[1]The guys over at Late Model Racecraft [2] seem to have already hit the nail on the head with their centrifugal supercharger kit for the C7, but it was no easy feat. More than a month of tuning was needed to get the car to run healthy and happy with the introduction of boost.

Before directly entering forced induction territory, LMR spent all time necessary tuning the car to run with their Stage II heads and cam upgrade and ended up with stout horsepower numbers ranging from 530-550 at the tires. With the use of a Vortech centrifugal supercharger along with their Stage II heads and cam setup and a fuel system upgrade, LMR managed to squeeze out 713 RWHP, making their C7 a complete animal.

[3]LMR’s supercharger system is only the beginning of their forced induction packages for the C7 Corvette. Coming soon are two variants of twin turbo kits; the first kit will be 800 HP capable on stock internals with a fuel system upgrade and the second kit will get a full list of engine and drivetrain upgrades to handle 1,000+ horsepower.

We love to see where forced induction is taking the C7 and its LT1 powerplant and can’t wait to see video of it laying down quarter mile times. It’s only a matter of time until we start seeing these kits on the market, so get your wallets ready, C7 owners! For more information on these kits, head on over to Late Model Racecraft’s website [2] and check them out. [4]
