Video: First “R8C” C7 Corvette Stingray delivered at NCM

[1]September 30th, 2013 marked the day that Nick and Valerie George made history and took delivery of their brand spankin’ new 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray. Their C7 Corvette was the first to receive the R8C museum delivery option, and boy, is it a beauty.

The R8C option is actually a very cool package, especially if you don’t live in the area and want to tour the National Corvette Museum [2], the facility across the road in which the car is built, and take delivery of your sleek new C7. Also included in the R8C option is a plaque commemorating the customer’s experience.

[3]We can just imagine how ecstatic the George’s were when they first laid eyes on their new baby. This is also the first Corvette that each of them have ever owned, so we’d imagine this delivery was an extra special experience.

Nick George states that he and his wife Valerie were watching the live reveal of the C7 in Detroit on the internet, and went to put in an order the very next day. For the Georges, the C7 was love at first sight, and we can’t blame them.

As far as delivery goes, a pre-delivery inspection of the car is done by the NCM and the car is filled up with fuel before being handed off to the very lucky customer. There are also trained museum employees, Corvette enthusiasts themselves, to give proper delivery and orientation of the car. The song used in the video is Beautiful Day by U2, and we found this really fitting for the video of the George’s taking delivery of their car because it was, in fact, a beautiful day.
