Video: Eyewitness View of C6 Committing “Cone Murder”

Sometimes you’re good behind the wheel, and sometimes your skills are just pain ugly; but either way, it’s great to have a camera there to catch either scenario. This video we recently uncovered on YouTube, features a little bit of the good, the bad, and the ugly all from the same C6 Corvette driver. The video is shot at one of Las Vegas Region Sports Car Club of America’s (LVRSCCA) weekend autocross events, which are held in the vast expanses of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s parking lot.

As the video caption states, “It starts out ok, but then the driver suffers from a brain-fart late in the day.” The driver makes a pretty solid run on the first go around, and we get treated to all of the wonderful sounds that only an LS3 can make when driven hard. The second go round… well, not so great.

The C6 comes in a little hot on a sweeping left hand turn, and the tires let out a warning squeal as the driver tries to correct their entry line, but it’s too little too late. That’s the bad. The ugly comes in right around the 2:10 mark, as the camera gives us an up close and personal view of the C6 mowing down four standing orange cones, and unceremoniously trampling another that was already laid over. You can almost feel the driver cringe as they realize that they’re definitely going to be headed home with a few extra scuff marks (and a bunch of extra penalty seconds added to your time) from their little cone-to-bumper rendezvous.
