Video: Corvette’s New Commercial

[1]

Taking advantage of changing demographics in the viewing audience for this year’s ALMS broadcasts, Chevrolet aired a new Corvette commercial during the Sebring race. Sales of the Corvette have shown an uptrend this year, so it is certainly a good time to push a strong position.

“Just to Be Fair” makes a point about having to reduce the ZR1’s output in order to compete in the series. The ZR1’s LS9 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine puts out 638 horsepower in street form, along with 604 pound-feet of torque. The LS9 engine is hand-assembled at GM’s Performance Build Center, in Wixom, Michigan.

This promotion follows an equally well-done commercial called “Still Building Rockets,” which likened the results of the country to put a man on the moon by the end of the 1960’s, to the performance of current Corvettes. The debut work for Chevrolet came from the advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners [2] and was produced by radical media [3].
