Video: Corvette Racing Preps For 24 Hours Of Le Mans

American muscle cars have worked hard to shake the stigma that all they can do is drive fast in a straight line and sound good doing it. The Chevrolet Corvette has become an unofficial ambassador of American car performance with its participation in some of the most-watched and famous racing events in all of motorsports. Events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s oldest automotive endurance race.

Corvette Racing, the American Le Mans team that carries the GM banner in road courses across the U.S., is gearing up for another shot at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This video is the first of five videos detailing Corvette Racing’s journey back to the Circuit de la Sarthe.

As you might imagine, Corvette Racing started prepping for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans immediately after last year’s ended. The weeks leading up to the race are the hardest though, as the crew works tirelessly to ensure that all the parts, all the tools, and all the gear is ready to be shipped five thousand miles across the Atlantic to a little French town called Le Mans.

And boy do they pack a lot. Each car gets three sets of body work, three sets of suspension parts, six transmissions, and plenty more hardware. If you’ve ever wondered how Corvette Racing gets all of this stuff across the Atlantic, this video should shed some light on the in-depth process it takes getting ready for such an important race. We can’t wait to see the next video in the series, that’s for sure!
