Video: Corvette Daytona Prototype Makes its First Test Laps

Our friends at Corvette Blogger recently reported that the new Corvette Daytona Prototype race car, that was unveiled last Tuesday at Daytona International Speedway, turned in its very first laps ever around the track the very next day. GRAND-AM Rolex series driver Antonio Garcia, who drives for the Spirit of Daytona race team, had the honor of breaking in the Corvette Daytona Prototype during a GRAND-AM test day at Daytona.

Corvette Blogger also reports that three other GRAND-AM teams plan to run the Corvette Daytona Prototype next year in addition to Spirit of Daytona; SunTrust Racing, GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing, and Action Express. Each of these teams could have their LSX powered Corvette Daytona Prototypes ready to hit the track for testing as early as next month.
