In America, we like to brand ourselves as the nation that promotes freedom; with fighter jets, bald eagles, apple pies, and Chevrolets. But we also have a lot of politically correct (and strict) health and safety laws that other countries probably couldn’t even fathom. We love to have fun, right up until somebody gets hurt…
Recently, we ran across this video of a C6 Corvette somewhere in Europe getting drift crazy and doing donuts for a crowd of onlookers. The description is limited to “2010 CCR,” and even though we searched extensively to find out more about the event, we were limited to results of Koenigseggs and Creedance Clearwater Revival.
A search on “Bellevue Tours” results turned up empty as well. We tried… But the point of this video, or rather this article, was to talk about the hoonage and sheer awesome factor of this C6 getting sideways.
What particularly catches our attention are the safety ropes, that apparently completely protect men, women, children, and a Chrysler PT Cruiser limousine from harm. The ropes must be made from an alloy consisting of titanium and granite, because otherwise, that rope wouldn’t stop an eight year-old girl on a pogo stick.
Even though the video misrepresents this standard Vette as a ZR1, it’s still fun to watch an American sports car showing the Europeans how it’s done. We just wish we could come up with more info about this European automotive event. Can any of our overseas readers tell us what we’re looking at?
