Video: A look at Will.I.Am’s Unique West Coast Customs’ Corvette
Will.I.Am is the talented hip hop performer behind the group the Black Eyed Peas, but he is also an avid car enthusiast. You may remember hearing how the music mogul tracked down a rare DeLorean DMC-12 for the group’s 2010 “Getting’ Over You” music video, but his love for cars doesn’t stop there. Back in 2011 Will.I.Am contacted West Coast Customs, the shop featured in MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” and TLC’s “Street Customs” with an idea for a custom Corvette. Check out the car in the video above compliments of CorvetteBlogger.
The Corvette is comprised of the body of a ‘58 model mated to a custom tube chassis with C6 running gear. The unique look of the car comes from a hand-made custom front end combined with a red and white retro paint scheme. The car is finished off with special Colorado Customs white-wall rims, upholstery from a ’08 Corvette and a West Coast Customs sound system. The car even features a built-in iPad.
Will.I.Am continues to enjoy the custom Corvette, which was built from a design he came up with using Photoshop, having been seen driving the car around Hollywood lately. It’s no wonder he takes pride in the car, since according to West Coast Customs’ Ryan Friedlinghaus, Will.I.Am’s Corvette is the best car they’ve built yet.
