Video: A Few Minutes Alone With The CBM Motorsports Crew

Very rarely do enthusiasts get to pick the brains of those who build our favorite motors. As automotive journalists, however, we’re bestowed with that opportunity quite often, and recently, our friends at Motor Trend sat down with Chris Bland and Bruce McKillop of CBM Motorsports [2]. You might be familiar with CBM since we brought you a little ditty on Bland’s LS7-swapped Porsche 911 [3] several months ago.

But now we get an inside look at their shop, the work that they do, and why they do it. To sum things up, they share a love and passion for the GM LS Series platform, and in their eyes at least, it’s one of the best engines ever made. As Bland puts it, “GM got it right.”

Being directly involved with the LS performance industry ourselves, we sort of have a difficult time disagreeing with them.

The video we have linked above is a good one. What makes it particularly interesting and generally very cool, is that we get to hear a bit of history on both men, their background and where they are now with their current business.

They’re looking forward to the new LT1 with great interest and anticipation. With direct injection, variable valve timing, and an overall improvement in efficiency, we’re right there with them.
