Video: 2014 Corvette Stingray With HPE500 Upgrade

It’s only been a couple of months since the first 2014 Corvette Stingrays started arriving at Chevy dealerships across America, but aftermarket specialists like Hennessey Performance Engineering [1] have been busy since last year preparing a whole host of upgrades and modifications designed to really wake up the Stingray’s all-new LT1 V8 engine.

So even though the new Stingray has only been on the market for a few months, and orders for certain vehicles are stretching out to six months or more, Hennessey has released the first video of its HPE500 package for the 2014 Corvette. Do Want!

This is just the first step in Hennessey’s plan for world domination via high-performance Corvettes, and the HPE500 package is a relatively mild upgrade to the 450 horsepower LT1 engine. This translated to 416 horsepower and 416 pound-feet of torque at the wheels, before Hennessey got to work on it.

The modifications in the HPE500 package include full-length headers, stainless steel midpipes, high-flow cats and new tuning calibration to boost power approximately 10%. On the dyno the HPE500 Corvette Stingray put 447 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque down at the wheels, and you had better believe this is only the beginning. Hennessey already has plans for a 1,000 horsepower Stingray, which will make this 500 horsepower Corvette look pretty tame by comparison…
